Juniper Media Pfitzeriana Aurea

This Juniper 'Media Pfitzeriana Aurea' bonsai brings something unusual to the evergreen bonsai world: foliage that holds the warmth of late-afternoon sunlight all year round. Twenty years of patient cultivation have shaped this golden juniper bonsai into the Moyogi (informal upright) style, its trunk tracing a gentle S-curve that rises through 45 cm with measured, unhurried grace. The 'Aurea' cultivar's calling card is its honeyed, golden-yellow needles, brightest on the new spring growth and settling into a softer bronze-green on older pads — a tonal shift that keeps the composition looking fresh across every season. Because Pfitzeriana junipers naturally spread into low, arching fans, this gold foliage bonsai reads almost like a miniature landscape rather than a single tree, its crown wider than it is tall. At forty-five centimetres, it is a generous desk or shelf specimen that brings the glow of a Japanese bonsai into interiors where space and light are at a premium. Anyone looking to buy golden juniper bonsai with the quiet luxury of two decades' age and a genuinely rare colour palette has found a standout.
