Prunus Shirotae

Capturing the fleeting magic of the Japanese cherry blossom season, this 6-year-old Prunus 'Shirotae' bonsai is trained in the dynamic Shakkan (slanted) style, leaning forward as if reaching toward the spring sun. Known as the Mount Fuji cherry, the 'Shirotae' cultivar is celebrated for its exceptionally large, pure white, semi-double flowers that drape elegantly from the branches of this flowering cherry bonsai. At a delicate 25 cm in height, this miniature tree balances a dramatic, angled trunk line with a refined canopy that bursts into a breathtaking cloud of white petals every April. Beyond its spectacular spring show, this deciduous Japanese bonsai offers striking autumn foliage in shades of fiery orange, followed by a stark winter silhouette that highlights its slanted architecture. Because it is still relatively young, this cherry blossom bonsai is highly responsive to pruning, allowing its next owner to further refine its spreading branch pads. Enthusiasts looking to buy Prunus bonsai that delivers the iconic romance of Hanami on a tabletop scale will find this slanted flowering specimen to be an absolute treasure.
